There are 13 First Response Units in Hunt County. Caddo Mills Volunteer Fire Department* Campbell Volunteer Fire Department Cash Volunteer Fire Department* Celeste Volunteer Fire Department* Commerce Emergency Corps* (in cooperation with Commerce Fire Department) Greenville Fire Department* Lone Oak Volunteer Fire Department Merit Volunteer Fire Department Quinlan Volunteer Fire Department Tawakoni South Fire Department Union Valley Volunteer Fire Department West Tawakoni Volunteer Fire Department Wolfe City Volunteer Fire Department * These units also provide motor vehicle accident rescue service First Responder personnel are EMS professionals trained to perform procedures to sustain an injured or critically ill person until ambulance transport arrives. To be authorized as First Responders, they must be trained in basic emergency care. Many of the units listed include Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics who can provide advanced emergency care. Many members of Hunt County’s First Response team are trained volunteers who freely give their time and expertise to assist in emergency situations.
